Spatial Query:

Types of spatial query:

Spatial query is to search within the available data to satisfy a given condition. There are two types of spatial query:
  1.  Query of attribute data
A spatial distribution or an area will be searched with respect to a given attribute of interest.
  2. Query of geometric data
With a given geometric condition for example location, shape or intersection, all data that satisfy the condition will be searched. In the case of a vector data form, to search an area which includes a given point, and to find all line segments which intersect a given line would be a typical query of geometric data.

Public health organizations operate on vast bodies of data. Access to accurate and timely information is critical to their ability to carry out their core functions. On a daily basis public health departments are required to make accurate assessments of the public's health and safety, spatial analysis, develop health policy and plans, and provide assurances to the public they serve. Public Health Delivering on the core public health functions requires building and maintaining mission-critical databases that are rich in content. Effectively assessing this data also requires powerful analytical software tools.
GIS team provides the needed support to EMR MOH/WRs and different units/programs with the spatial answers to be a strategic/support tool for the decision makers
